Russian National Day

On June 12, 1990, the Supreme Soviet of the Russian Federation adopted and issued the Declaration of Sovereignty, declaring Russia’s independence from the Soviet Union. This day was designated as a national holiday by Russia. The Russians did not hold any special celebrations on this day. The government did not organize any formal celebrations. However, June 12 was set as a public holiday. Military parade, awards, singing patriotic songs and Russian national anthem, Russian presidential speech, entertainment and cultural events
