Alloy steel shot are widely used in the casting industry, to remove sand from the surface of the work piece after it has been removed from the mold.

Alloy steel shot production process, First melting high-quality steel blocks, then using high-pressure water jets to form particles of molten steel. The resulting shot are newly heated to purify them evenly, and then quenched.
The quenched shots are dried and reheated in a furnace to achieve suitable hardness. The tempered alloy steel shots are divided into different grades through a mechanical screen.
Products of different sizes and hardness are used in different processes, such as surface strengthening.
