Waterjet cutting

In the waterjet cutting work, the phenomenon of waterjet sand pipe plugging often occurs. In order to avoid this, in addition to correctly selecting the waterjet sand pipe, it is also necessary to start from the root, that is, find the reason of waterjet sand pipe plug is solved in a targeted manner.

 In the waterjet cutting process, the waterjet sand tube is washed by high-speed abrasive particles, so its selection is very important. Since the life of the water jet sand tube is very short, in general, the material of the water jet sand tube must have a high hardness and a high wear resistance.

    In contrast, waterjet sand pipes processed with composite tungsten carbide materials are relatively wear resistant. It is worth noting that even with the material of tungsten carbide, the shape, size and type of tungsten carbide and various process conditions have a great influence on the wear resistance of the water-jet abrasive tube of tungsten carbide.

   The water pipe sand pipe plug may be because the sand is mixed with other large particle impurities during the use process, then the corresponding solution is to make the sand storage tight; or it may be that the dust in the sand is too much. After the water is wet, the sand is easily consolidated into a mass, and the diameter of the cluster is larger than the inner diameter of the water jet sand tube. When it is transported to the sand tube, the plug is easily generated. 

  There are also several points that are likely to cause the water knife to plug because the particles of the sand are too large; the flow rate of the sand is too large, and the pressure of the high pressure generator of the water jet sand tube should be adjusted in an appropriate amount; or the diameter of the gemstone and the sand tube do not match. Need to be re-adjusted, the ratio of gemstones to sand pipes in waterjets is preferably 1:3.
