Premier Li meets UNGA president

Premier Li Keqiang met with United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) president Maria Fernanda Espinosa Garces at Beidaihe in Qinhuangdao, North China’s Hebei province, on Aug 8.

As a founding member of the UN and a permanent member of the UN Security Council, as well as the biggest developing country, China has always been a core supporter of the international organization, Premier Li said.

China firmly maintains the authority of the UN, supports its key role in international affairs, and is ready to take part in all kinds of activities initiated by the organization in fields, such as politics, economy, social development and peace keeping, he said.
